DEEP CULINARY ROOTS IN FREDERICKSBURG TEXAS

   The Meier family ancestors were among early German immigrants who settled Fredericksburg TX.   By 1850, they were growing and providing food to neighbors and other Hill Country residents.  
   In the early 1930's, the family purchased their new ranch that Meier descendants still own today.   It includes notable historic buildings, such as the large stallion barn, that had been a major part of the legendary Morris Ranch.  

OUR FOUNDER   
  Like his ancestors, Wayne Meier grew a large garden and orchard on his ranch.  
   Starting in the 1980's he was also gathering various native Texas plants, such as mesquite beans, pecans, berries, wild grapes, etc, for his "wild" recipes that he made from scratch in his commercial ranch kitchen.  With his food production background, he masterly crafted his gourmet recipes.  Soon, the Texas Wild™ brand was hitting shelves in peach stands and retail stores all around our hometown.
  As the Texas Wild™ brand grew, Wayne was the local 'go to guy' - he helped others who were seeking advice on their own gourmet food businesses.

BIRTH OF A NEW LEGEND
  In 1994 our founder officially established the Texas Wild™ registered trademark, and a new legend was created.  
  The following year, he became an inaugural member of Go Texan.  
  Not only did he spend countless hours in his ranch kitchen, but he was also the primary salesperson.  Investing much time on the road, he criss-crossed throughout Texas and many other states, meeting all sorts of people and business owners along the way.  And by 2020, Texas Wild™ gourmet & speciality foods were being sold online and through hundreds of retail store partners nationwide.
  Unfortunately, Wayne passed away in 2020, but the Meier family was determined to preserve his vision, his original culinary recipes, and the Texas Wild™ story.

OUR FUTURE
    In the spring of 2026, Weigand Ranch LLC and the Weigand family, who also descend from early Fredericksburg German roots, are pleased to announce they are the new owners of Texas Wild™.
   Thrilled for the opportunity to be part of the Texas Wild™ story, the family is committed to continue sharing these original Signature Flavors from the Weigand Ranch in Fredericksburg, to customers across our nation.
   We are thankful to all of the customers who have been enjoying & requesting these flavors of Fredericksburg for over 30 years. 
  And we are excited about Texas Wild's growing future!
