DEEP CULINARY ROOTS IN FREDERICKSBURG TEXAS

   The Meier family ancestors were among early German immigrants in Fredericksburg TX.  By 1850, they were growing and providing food to neighbors and other Hill Country residents.
   In the early 1930's, the family purchased their new ranch in which Meier descendants still own today.   It includes notable historic buildings, such as the large stallion barn, that had been a major part of the legendary Texas thoroughbred horse racing program at Morris Ranch.

OUR FOUNDER   
  Like his ancestors, Wayne Meier also grew a large garden and orchard on his ranch, and was passionate about food production.
   Starting in the 1980's he was gathering various native Texas plants, such as mesquite beans, pecans, berries, wild grapes, etc, for his "wild" recipes that he made from scratch in his commercial ranch kitchen.  He masterly crafted his recipes, and soon, Texas Wild™ gourmet foods were hitting shelves in peach stands and retail stores in our hometown and surrounding Texas Hill Country.
   In 1994 he officially established the Texas Wild™ registered trademark, and the following year, became an inaugural member of Go Texan.
   As the Texas Wild™ brand grew, Wayne was also known as the local 'go to guy'.   He generously helped others who were seeking his advice on developing gourmet recipes.
  Not only did he spend countless hours in his kitchen, but he was also the primary salesperson.  Investing much time on the road, he criss-crossed throughout Texas and many other states, meeting all sorts of people and business owners along the way.  
  The Texas Wild™ Brand was being sold through hundreds of retail partner stores nationwide, and online.
  Unfortunately, Wayne passed away in 2020, but the Meier family was determined to preserve his vision, his original culinary recipes, and unique Texas Wild™ story.
